PAGE 7F. Personal Assessment

                        Personal Assessment-Part 2

I told you when we started that there would be some work involved.  However, you will have to admit that it hasn’t been all that difficult.  There’s one final thing/exercise of a personal nature that I want you to do before we move on to step two in the planning process.  This is for all your team members.  Listed below are some pairs of descriptive words.  I want each team member to go down the list and circle which term in each pair best describes who they are.  Don’t take a long time with this, and don’t get involved in morbid introspection, and don’t mark any place in between.  You will tend to be one way or the other.  When each team member has completed the exercise, I want you each to share with the others how you marked your choices and see if the rest of the team agrees.  Do they see you the same way you see yourself?

I hope by now you (team members) are all talking to one another.  If not, this exercise should get you started.  If you all are not on the same page by now, it’s time to get there.  This is a team effort.

One more thing.  Most of what we have been talking about the last several sessions is within your control.  As you know there are some things in life that are pretty much beyond our control.  Unfortunately, some of these may impact your ability to plan or the plan itself.  I just want you to be aware of these and think about them as we move forward.  Some will impact your plans positively but some will have a negative impact.

You may now consider yourself to be IN TOUCH.  Are you pleased with what you learned about yourself?  Do you think the MASTER is pleased with where you are in the Christian life?  As a steward, servant, slave how do you think the MASTER would rate your performance?  Are you going to get a gold star and a raise?

Will the MASTER say: Matt 25:21 “‘Well done, good and faithful slave; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your master.’ NAS

Now that you have all this information pulled together, I want to challenge you to take an inventory of the resources God has placed at your “disposal”.  Maybe that’s not quite the right word.  What are the resources He has entrusted to you to manage for Him?  This would include the skills, abilities, and talents with which He has blessed you.  It would include the time, the car(s), the house, the tools, the money, the wave runner, the RV, etc. He is letting you use/manage.  I want you to begin thinking about this and in the mean time I’m going to see if I can come up with a form on which you can record this inventory next time
